Fourth Friday in Kihei

July 21, 2013 by admin

The 4th Friday evening of every month provides Kihei and the island residents and visitors with a fun filled, food filled street fair right in the heart of Kihei. It has been steadily growing since its beginning about 6 months ago. Last night was the biggest and best so far. Great food, crafts, local artists, local musicians, and games for the kids.

Friday Town Parties Sign

WE started off as we usually do with the Maui Cookie Lady. YUM! Huge cookies of the most delicious and interesting flavors.

From there we walked a bit in search of another favorite.

Finding another favorite we stopped for some Maui Macaroons! Although she has a great variety of tropical flavors as well as traditional macaroon flavors, we always buy the salted caramel macaroons. She makes the caramel herself. Simply delicious!

Since we are so good at eating dessert before dinner, we decided to find our dinner.

Horito’s shrimp tacos are always great!

And oh, look at this sign, I have never heard of Costa Rican Tacos, Gotta try them!

There were delicious!!!!

Some more traveling through the town party to make room for more food.

We were just too full to try this corn on the cob, but it looked wonderful!

As usual Jim and I finished off the night with Outrigger Wood Fire Oven Pizza

And then for the finale! Ono Gelato!

Maui Arts and Cultural Center

April 25, 2013 by admin

Maui Arts and Cultural CenterOn April 12, 2013, we attended a James Taylor concert at The MACC. As you can see from the photos this is an intimate outdoor venue only seating 5000, as well as two indoor theaters. It is a real treat seeing great entertainment out side under the stars in Maui!

James Taylor at the MACCThe evening starts off with great food booths from various restaurants in Maui.

James Taylor was great, up close and personal!

Some of the past performers include: Eagles, Elton John, Aerosmith, Santana, Prince, UB40, Pearl Jam, The Police, Bob Dylan, The Who, Cheryl Crow, The Doobie Brothers, Boss Scaggs, America, Air Supply, Mick Fleetwood, Boston, Foreigner, and the list goes on. Also local entertainment from hawaii artists including Keali’i Reichel, Uluwaehi Guerrero, Willy K as well as local theater, hula, Maui Film Festival, etc.

Up Close and PersonalIf you are interested check The MACC website at www.MauiArts.org for show dates and times during your stay. Makes for a great evening local style.

For our MAUI B AND B guests rave about the experience!

We’ll keep you posted!

Maui B & B Experiences

April 21, 2013 by admin

IMG_2221_2Jim and I started this blog on April 20, 2013. Our intention is to give our Maui Inn guests and idea of what people, who have lived on Maui for over 20 years, do during their free time. Where we eat, snorkel, paddle board, hike, play golf, etc. Hopefully some of the information in the blog will add some insight that may not be available in guide books or travel sites for our Maui B and B sites. Upon your arrival at our Maui Inn we can answer any questions you may have in regards to these activities.
